I was at a mini-seminar the other day (18th September 2019), and I heard something that gave me an idea for what I now plan to do with my students this session. The speaker was Professor Pascal Anosike Director of the African Entrepreneurship and Leadership Center at the University of Wolverhampton, and I use this opportunity to thank him for dropping a lot of nuggets – his ideas birthed mine.
The week before this, I kept thinking about the fact that I wanted to do right by my students. I want to be able to teach them – so much so that my lessons would be a tangible product that they could trade with for the rest of their lives.
As I write this, I am thinking about the teachers who have made the most impact in my life. I am tempted to talk about the contributions they all made – but maybe some other time. Anyway, asides from grasping the concepts that they taught, I also learned other virtues that serve me well today. Speaking about this, Mrs. A. would most likely critic this blog post, flag out every grammatical and syntax errors and give me a measly (5/10) for my effort. Every single essay I submitted to her in secondary school was intended to please her – but No! She always found silly errors. Hehehehehe…
I rant
I’m sure a couple of students would be like, “Nooooooooo ma, just give us the usual, just let us pass and graduate, don’t stress our lives…”. To which I respond in my Puerto Rican voice, “No bebe, Okurrr! You must be great by force”.
In addition to teaching, presentations, assignments, tests and exams, I plan to introduce at least one major community development project for students in the two classes I would be a part of this semester. The first stage of the Projects would commence in the last week of October at the latest and end by the first week in December.
I will put out details of the projects on this week as the week progress. Please Stay Tuned.

I am super excited.
Cannot wait to start.
