Another Morning, Another Day: Christmas Prep and Getting Things Done

by T.M Kayode

Another morning. Another day. Time for some updates!

First off—drumroll please—Dabbie is officially done with school for the year! Whoop whoop! 🎉

To celebrate and keep the Christmas magic alive, I’ve decided to let her take the lead as Project Manager of Christmas Decorations

She’ll be in charge of deciding where to place the ornaments, lights, and all the festive touches.

Will it be perfect? Probably not. It’ll likely be a little asymmetrical and off-center, but that’s what makes it fun!

I think it’s beautiful to let her imagination run wild and see how her decorating style evolves as she grows older.

Hopefully, we’ll finish everything today, and our living room will officially scream Christmas joy.

Yesterday’s To-Do List: Wins, Misses, and New Surprises

If you haven’t read yesterday’s blog post yet, you can check it out here for context (and a few laughs).

From yesterday’s list:

Document Sent: I worked on that document I mentioned and sent it off to the recipient. Let me tell you, that was a huge weight off my shoulders!

Watched The Six Triple Eight: Oh, my goodness. Tyler Perry did not mess this one up. I shed a few tears. Who am I kidding? I shed more than a few tears. It’s such a powerful story that brought to life the resilience and determination of these incredible women. If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend adding it to your holiday watchlist.

No Cleaning, Bible Study Work, or Book Reading: These tasks didn’t get touched. At all. Not one room cleaned, no progress on the Bible study devotional, and my book? Still sitting right where I left it.

New Website Setup: I did manage to set up that new website I mentioned. Yay for small wins! (I’ll share more about that project soon—stay tuned!)

Cooking: Dinner was served, so at least the family was fed!

And for a little bonus: I started watching Julia on Max. It wasn’t on my to-do list, but wow, I’m hooked! —it’s so good. Sometimes the best moments come from unplanned detours, don’t they?

Today’s Plans

So, what’s on my plate for today?

  1. Finish Everything I Didn’t Do Yesterday: Fingers crossed that I can make some progress on cleaning, finishing the Christmas decorations, and advancing the Bible study devotional. Oh, and maybe squeeze in some reading.
  2. Christmas Gift Research: I need to figure out what we’re getting for the family this year. Any ideas?
  3. Christmas Menu Planning: It’s time to nail down what’s going to be on the table for Christmas Day!

It’s currently 5:09 a.m. EST, and I’ve been up since 3 a.m. trying to get some work done. Now, I think I’ve earned a few more hours of sleep before the day truly begins.

Before You Go…

If you’ve been enjoying these updates, would you consider subscribing to this blog? That way, you’ll never miss a post, and we can stay connected as I share more snippets of life, projects, and (occasionally) chaotic to-do lists.

What are you working on today? Are you already done with Christmas prep, or are you scrambling like me? Let me know in the comments—I’d love to hear from you!

Until next time…
