2024 Recap (Part 1)

by T.M Kayode

Let’s kick this off by saying that everything work-related this year went amazingly well. But for this recap, I want to focus on the other parts of my life—the things I got up to outside of work.

January: A Challenging Start

2024 started with an unexpected challenge. I had to undergo a minor surgical operation for mastitis, which led to me weaning Tiara at just 4 months old, far earlier than my initial goal of 18 months. Let me tell you, the mom guilt was real. But seeing Tiara continue to exceed her growth chart at every medical appointment reassured me that she was thriving—and that brought me so much peace.

February and March: A Season of Reflection

The months of February and March were spent in deep contemplation and prayer, seeking clarity on my next moves. During this period, I stumbled on a life-changing message by Apostle Emmanuel Iren on Purpose, which lit a fire in me to take action.

April: Blogging Revival

In April, I took a leap and restarted my blog! I bought the domain name, committed to posting on Saturdays and Wednesdays, and here we are—72 articles later. Can you believe it? Seventy-two! How did I even manage that? (Shoutout to 2 a.m. writing sessions, am I right?)

Blogging this year has been such a fulfilling journey. It’s been a space to share my thoughts, lessons, and adventures, and I’m so grateful for everyone who’s read, commented, and encouraged me along the way.

Mid-Year: Rediscovering My Passions

This year, I spent a lot of time reflecting on my interests and asking myself, What do I really want to be doing? Here are a few highlights:

  • Bible Reading Journey: I started reading the Bible cover to cover. I haven’t finished yet, but I’ve made significant progress, and I’m celebrating that! For Mother’s Day, H gifted me a journaling Bible (perfect for my notes and reflections) and a 32-inch LG curved monitor—because apparently, I wanted to “see my work better.” Thanks, H!
  • OurBibleNotes on IG: This year, we also launched OurBibleNotes on Instagram, which has been a beautiful way to share reflections and insights from the Word.
  • Listening and Writing: I listened to over 100 sermons by Architect Olajumoke Adenowo, whose teachings profoundly inspired me. That inspiration led to me writing an entire book about her life and work.

Learning and Growing

I also threw myself into a year of growth:

  • Courses: I took several courses that stretched my mind and sharpened my skills.
  • Books: I read a lot of books.
  • Family Time: I read a substantial portion of the Bible with my family this year, which was a rewarding experience that I’ll treasure forever.

There’s so much to unpack here, but I’ll save the details for tomorrow’s post, where I’ll dive deeper into the books, courses, and lessons that shaped 2024.

Wrapping Up

For now, I’m signing off to get some much-needed shut-eye. 2024 has been a year of challenges, reflection, growth, and so much grace, and I can’t wait to see what 2025 will bring.

Thank you for being part of my journey this year—reading these posts, sharing your thoughts, and encouraging me every step of the way.

Goodnight for now!
Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
